September Professional Development Meeting:
Practical Application of Supply Chain Resilience Strategies and Inventory Optimization
In this presentation we will review strategies PepsiCo has developed to increase supply chain resiliency related to complex global supply chains for ingredients sourced in southeast Asia.
A resilient supply chain starts with a network design and practices that help a company avoid events that will disrupt the supply chain. In addition to avoidance, it is necessary to develop practices that allow PepsiCo to return to optimal performance as quickly as possible after an adverse event.
We will also review several case studies from PepsiCo regarding how resilience has been incorporated into their supply chain.
Tim Rowell presented this topic at the 2016 APICS International Conference and industry publications ran articles about this topic, including Forbes and Logistics Viewpoints.
